A Sunflower Wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and El Paseo
Lauren and Mark's wedding colors were sunflower yellow, cobalt blue and deep emerald, and they looked great against the white walls and red tile of the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
Getting Ready
Lauren got ready with her girls at home in Goleta, with sunflower bouquets from Pac West Blooms and hair and makeup from Beauty Crew. Mark and his groomsmen got ready downtown on Anapamu, a few blocks from the Courthouse.

First Look in the Sunken Gardens
We met at the Sunken Gardens for a first look, then did bridal party photos with a long line of cobalt suits and emerald dresses under the Courthouse arch.

Sunken Gardens Ceremony
Mark walked down the aisle with his mom, and Lauren with her dad, Jim. Steven Lozier officiated on the lawn at 4:30, with the Courthouse behind them. The moment they kissed, my second shooter headed off to photograph details at the reception while I stayed for family photos.

Cocktails, Toasts and Donuts at El Paseo
El Paseo is an easy walk from the Courthouse, so guests strolled over for cocktail hour in its courtyard, under string lights and hanging plants. The bridal party made a grand entrance from the second floor, straight into a first dance to Kina Grannis's "Shut Up & Dance."
There were six toasts: both fathers, two bridesmaids, Mark's brothers (his two best men) and Lauren's sister Aimee. Mark danced with his mom to "Because You Loved Me." Lauren danced with her dad to Eva Cassidy's "Time After Time," and her mom joined them halfway through. Then the dance floor opened, the donut wall came out, and DJ Zeke kept it packed until the very end. Keep an eye out for Mark with his niece. Those were some of my favorite frames of the night.
