The Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara offers a historic mission-style sanctuary and multiple garden courtyards for ceremonies and receptions. The campus features a full commercial kitchen and various private event spaces suitable for diverse wedding styles.
The Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara is a historic, nondenominational church located in downtown Santa Barbara. The campus offers a variety of settings, including a sanctuary, a reception hall, a terrace, and two gardened courtyards.
You can host your ceremony in the historic sanctuary or utilize the outdoor garden spaces. The venue accommodates up to 250 guests and provides a full commercial kitchen for professional caterers. Depending on the day of the week, venue use typically ranges from 8 to 10 hours, which includes time for setup and breakdown. While the venue includes janitorial services for normal wear and tear after an event, you will need to provide your own officiant.
For photography, the venue offers a mix of indoor and outdoor environments. The sanctuary provides a sense of peaceful mystery with its vaulted ceilings and antique architectural elements. Outside, the landscaped courtyards and terrace offer classic backdrops for portraits and group shots. Because the site is a historic location, any unique decorations must be submitted for consideration to ensure they complement the existing architecture.
