Kari & Sean | Creston Ranch Wedding
After their spooky Stow House engagement session, it was no surprise Kari and Sean's wedding had some edge. They married on a private family ranch in Creston in early October, in black and burnt orange with plum and emerald bridesmaids, antlers on the tables and a neon sign that read "Till Death."

Getting Ready at the Ranch
The girls got ready in black robes, with custom hangers and a special ring box. The guys got ready in the bunkhouse in the barn, where Sean wore a paisley-lined suit and a watch that means a lot to him.

First Look and Vows
They had their first look on a dirt path under the oaks and read their vows to each other right there, before any guests arrived. Then we did wedding party and immediate family photos.

Ceremony in the Barn
Fifty-eight guests filled the barn, with red fabric draped across the rafters and a long aisle down the middle. Kari's brother Andrew officiated, and Kari walked in with her dad, Skip. When it was over, guests carried their own chairs over to the reception. Everyone pitched in.

Cocktails by the Oak and a Barn Reception
Cocktail hour was under the big oak tree, then everyone moved to farmhouse tables for dinner. Kari's dad gave a welcome speech. Trumpet Vine Catering served a buffet, and toasts came from the maid of honor, the best man and two of the uncles. Kari and Sean thanked everyone and went straight into their first dance, then father-daughter and mother-son dances.

Golden Hills, a Sunset and the Dog
With sunset coming at 6:40, we slipped out at ten after six for portraits in the dry golden grass, and Kari's mom brought their dog out to join. Then came cake, the bouquet toss and dancing under the red canopies until the music went off.
