Nisha and Alex’s intimate backyard wedding in the hills above Sherman Oaks was a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will last a lifetime. As I arrived at Nisha’s childhood home, where the couple hosted their wedding, I was struck by the feeling of home and the warmth of their loved ones. The house was filled with the delicious aroma of home-cooked food prepared by their friends (who are Michelin Star Chefs!) and the sounds of laughter and conversation as friends and family prepared for the ceremony.
As Nisha’s sister helped her into her dress, Alex sipped a whiskey while chatting with his mom and old friends. Aunts brought gorgeous, homemade floral arrangements, cousins set the table, and friends set the mood while the dogs begged for a drop of food. Tiffany from Your Wedding By Tiffany helped set the ceremony area with the gorgeous chairs supplied by Trio Event Rentals, while Brandt Jacobus serenaded attendees with smooth, relaxing guitar rifts as guests drifted in and out of the house.
Nisha and Alex’s first look under an archway in the backyard was a moment of pure joy and love. As Nisha playfully walked towards Alex and pinched his hip, he turned around and saw his soon-to-be wife. He couldn’t do anything but smile and smile some more; after these seconds that felt like an eternity of love’s gaze, they embraced, tears in their eyes. It was clear that this was a special day.
Inside the home, guests lined up to walk down the aisle. Alex with his mom, Nisha’s sister with the dogs in hand, and Nisha with her parents. Their officiant, another friend, told stories that emoted laughter and even some tears, until the ‘I dos’ were said, and they locked lips for the first time as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner with heartfelt toasts and desserts. As the night progressed, the guests continued to enjoy each other’s company and create memories that would last a lifetime. The atmosphere was magical, with the soft glow of fairy lights casting a warm and welcoming aura over the proceedings.
