There’s a certain magic in backyard weddings that comes from the intimacy and warmth of being surrounded by family and friends. Amanda and Mario’s special day in Lompoc was no exception, brimming with heartfelt moments and laughter.
As I arrived at Amanda’s mom’s home, I found Amanda being pampered by the talented Christina from Wyld Roots in the dining room. Loved ones drifted in and out, admiring the bride’s transformation. Moving to her mom’s bedroom, Amanda was carefully buttoned into her dress, sharing hugs and tender moments with her mother.
Before the ceremony, we took the bride’s side of the bridal party portraits in the open space behind the house, where eucalyptus trees gently filtered sunlight. It was here that Amanda and her cowboy dad shared a tearful first look, his eyes welling up with happiness and pride.
While Amanda hid inside, Mario and his groomsmen prepared in the garage. Their first look was saved for the moment Amanda walked down the aisle, and Mario’s face lit up with joy and anticipation. Following the ceremony, we returned to the open space for family photos and playful bridal party shots that showcased the couple’s fun-loving spirit.
The celebration continued at the Elks Lodge of Lompoc, where Amanda’s sister enjoyed a special tribute—a personalized entrance to the WWF theme song, reflecting her love for WWE and being the center of attention. The night unfolded with toasts, father-daughter and mother-son dances, and cake cutting, evoking a range of emotions from laughter to tears of joy.
As the evening progressed, we snuck away to capture romantic photos of Amanda and Mario along Highway 1, with the lush greenery of the hills and pastures as a backdrop. Upon our return, guests danced the night away to a mix of tunes by Justin Stern from JAS Productions.
